Benno & Thecla: with an old Royal Enfield through Africa

Benno and Thecla got the travel bug hitchhiking short distances in the Zaan area in Holland. One time, they got idea the idea to go and stick their thumb out on the other side of the road. The world lay open! Seven months hitchhiking later they arrived in Damascus.

Their next challenge was on the motorbike, an old Royal Enfield. Via Algeria they managed to cross the Sahara. All of a sudden and completely by surprise, they found themselves in West Africa. Via the Niger, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Nigeria, Cameroon, they made their way through to Central Africa, through the rain forests of Congo via Uganda and Kenya to Tanzania. 22,000 km from home.

But with that, their hunger for the open road was not satisfied. After 29,000 km through Canada, Alaska, the US and Mexico and another 9 months and 31,000 km through South America, Thecla wanted to see Namibia and Benno Ethiopia. In their presentation they tell you all about their last journey from the southern tip of Africa back to their roots in Noord-Holland. A 43,000 km long adventure through the African continent with their old trusted Royal Enfield.
